GAMBICA is the national organization representing the interests of companies in the instrumentation, control and automation industry in the UK.

The diverse nature of the industry is reflected in the five industry sectors represented by the Association:

International Society of Weighing & Measurement

The International Society of Weighing and Measurement is a non-profit organization, based in the United States, whose sole intent is the advancement of its members. Formerly known as the National Scale Men's Association, ISWM members have been gathering for over 70 years. ISWM members include manufacturers, distributors, government officials, end users, scale purchasers, and suppliers to the industry. ISWM members have various titles, from CEO's, presidents, sales managers, service technicians, administration and many more. They come from diverse backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common: they are committed to the technical advancements created by and for the weighing and measurement industry.

ISWM members handle a variety of products and services, from A/D converters to wheel load weighers, from bar code scanners to torque measuring, from computer weighing systems to test weights, digital display meters to radio frequency identification systems, from force guages to precision balances, from load cells to packaging machine scales. Everything in the world that has been made, has been weighed. Our members insure accuracy in the global economy.

National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NCRS)

Recently, the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) transferred all its regulatory powers to the new Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) institution – the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NCRS). Before NRCS became separate, regulatory matters were handled by SABS.

The NRCS protects the public’s rights by furthering the interest of health, safety and environmental protection. It monitors manufacturers and importers, preventing poor-quality or dangerous goods from entering the market.

NCRS responsibilities include:

• Making recommendations with regard to approved products
• Administering and maintaining approved specifications
• Inspection and enforcing compliance with specifications
• Issuing a letter of authority certificate permitting commodities or products to be sold or services to be supplied
• Informing South African commerce, industry and the public about compulsory specifications
• Entering into agreements with conformity assessment services providers to inspect, examine, test or analyse samples on behalf of NRCS

The Laboratory Products Association (LPA)

The Laboratory Products Association (LPA) is a part of the SAMA Group of Associations founded in 1918. Its member companies are manufacturers and distributors of lab products and services such as glass and plasticware, chemicals, equipment and supplies used in scientific research and applied science and life science worldwide.

DICLAB, A.C.

Instruments Distributor Association for Scientific use and Laboratory Material, AC holds the main manufacturers and distributors of materials, chemicals and laboratory products in Mexico.

Founded in Mexico City on January 28th of 1965, by the necessity of create a civil organization in combination with government agencies that would help to make a market study. Although, we promote a healthy and ethical relationship with our partners, suppliers (domestic nor foreign).

Diclab, A.c, holds more than 50 associates (companies), our main office is in Mexico City. We also have regional offices in Guadalajara and Monterrey.
